Celebrating innovation for green and blue transition

The CIHEAM Youth Innovation Award recognizes innovative solutions that drive environmental, social, and economic sustainability in Mediterranean food systems.

This year’s edition, supported by partners such as the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), UNIMED, and BusinessMed, focused on empowering young innovators who are shaping the future of sustainable food systems.

Among an impressive lineup of projects, NOWA stood out for its commitment to supporting women in aquaculture and fostering a global network for change.

A powerful pitch for inclusion

Marilou’s live pitch captured the essence of NOWA’s mission:

  • Building a multicultural and multidisciplinary network to support women in aquaculture.

  • Advocating for gender equality across the value chain.

  • Providing training, mentoring, and opportunities for women to thrive in the industry.

Her presentation not only secured a spot on the podium but also resonated with the audience, inspiring conversations about the future of aquaculture.

🎉 Congratulations to all awardees!

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the winners of the CIHEAM Youth Innovation Award 2024. It’s an honor to be among such inspiring innovators working toward green and blue transitions in the Mediterranean.
